We were tired. Tired of people proselytizing “Stick it in the Cloud, it’ll take care of it”, snapping their suspenders, turning and walking away like they’d been some kind company savior and had finally completed a hard-days work. The reality is this; the cloud is nothing more than someone else’s computer and unless you have the resources internally, you will need to manage all software and portions of network access to your shiny new cloud-service. Vendor specific management options are often under-estimated or these costs are repeated across IaaS providers without any cohesive management in place to bridge services from multiple vendors.
In a sense, it causes SaaSturation (the state of being saturated by SaaS or IaaS services). You need professionals that understand these providers and how to plan and apply a service lifecycle to all the moving parts across various ecosystems.
